Overview

During the spring of 2025, I worked at Beam (YC W22) as a contract UI Engineer working for a helping them with their product UI as well as their marketing site UI. During my time there, I built out UI components for their platform, marketing site, and design system. I also was the sole-contributor to features such as the customer blog. My time at Beam involved building out UI that are precise to the design, optimized, and fast. I worked closely with engineers and learned a lot about contribution and code organization best practices, which I now carry with me.

Beam's main dashboard provides developers with a comprehensive overview of their AI app deployments. The interface displays key metrics about the usage of AI inference including CPU utilization, memory usage, and GPU memory. As a UI engineer, I was responsible for creating the UI for the dashboard to be exact to the Figma design.

I helped in the migration of the existing UI to a new layout, which involved a move from a previous sidebar layout to a new layout that used a horizontal top navbar, which required a styling of various pages such as the Settings page.

I was the sole-contributor to features on the homepage such as the customer blog, which includes a new expandable navigation bar, a new customer blog directory page, and a new customer blog template page that pulls content from Sanity CMS.
